Diving and Diving Trips
We dive and do diving tours respectively diving trips around Koh Samui and show you the best dive sites around Koh Tao (including Chumphon Pinnacle), Sail Rock and on request in the Marine Park.
The Gulf of Thailand has a number of quality dive sites that can be comfortably dived all year round. Most of the dive sites are around Koh Tao and can be dived from Koh Samui as full day trip. Sail Rock is only about 1 hour away from Koh Samui. Big groupers, schools of barracudas or bat fish and green moray eels are not uncommon here.
A regular guest in this region is the whale shark, which, with a little luck, can be masked at the right time of year. The main attraction for these gentle giants are two large rock formations that are beautifully overgrown with soft corals and hard corals. Even if many divers agree that the west coast has the better dive sites, you can still collect some very nice diving experiences that will be remembered for a long time.
Snorkeling around Koh Samui
Not much is seen directly snorkelling from a beach on Koh Samui. The sea is too low and unfortunately has only limited coral reefs.
In order to see colourful fish and coral reefs, snorkelling tours to Koh Tao, to the Marine Park or to Koh Tan and Koh Madsum are held in place. We offer the latter as a “quasi” VIP tour, where you can also spend time on the beach in Koh Madsum (also called Pig Island).
We either offer snorkelling tours and snorkelling trips to Koh Tao by diving boat, or book a “standard snorkelling tour” for you. However, we recommend snorkelling trips with the submersible, as on this tour you will be able to see more, than on a normal snorkelling tour.
Snorkelling trips to the marine park (Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park) can also be booked through us, but only on request.
We at Member Diving recommend doing our Private Snorkeling and Beach Tour (Pig Island). It is always an eventful day, where you spend time on the beach (with wild boar) in the south of Koh Samui.
Diving Tours with Member Diving
With Member Diving you always dive in small groups. All our dive guides knows around on all dive sites wherever we go.
Before each dive there is always a diving briefing where the hand signals are repeated and the depths are defined.
A general daily routine (schedule) of a diving day:
- You will be picked up at the hotel or at your accommodation around 8:00 a.m.
- At 9:00 a.m., our Speed Catamaran leaves for the diving areas, depending on the destination, between a maximum hour (Sail Rock) and 1:30 hours (Koh Tao)
- The first dive is made, as a rule, diving is never longer than 1 hour (so that we are still at no-stop times)
- A break with a small snack or even real lunch is made
- The second dive will be at another dive site around Koh Tao, at Sail Rock we will stay at the same dive site …
- After the second dive we drive back to Koh Samui
- The dive logs will be filled in and you as a guest will be brought back to your accommodation
