Now is the time to dive into the Open Water Diver course, the most popular scuba programme in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure, the dive association that sets the standards in the global diving community. Why not learn to dive in Thailand?
You will earn the Open Water Diver certification that is recognised worldwide. You earn this license by completing sessions in a purpose-built 2-3 metre deep diving pool in Koh Samui, knowledge development sessions, and by making 4 dives at some of the best Samui or Koh Tao diving sites.
With such a wide variety of dive sites here in the Golf of Thailand, we can manage the course to fit your needs. At Koh Tao we have clear, shallow areas in which to practice your new found skills, and then it’s a short swim to our many natural and artificial reefs, teeming with fish. Then maybe on your 2nd diving day you can try the exciting dives of Shark Island or Green Rock, or finish of in style at the beautiful Sail Rock Dive Spot.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. Virtually anyone who’s in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn the Open Water Diver certification. At some point during your Thailand diving course, your Instructor will check your ability to swim.
The Open Water Diver license is a permanent scuba qualification, and as a certified diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. However, if you do not dive for over 12 months and you are a relatively an inexperienced diver, then we recommend you complete a refresher programme, such as the Scuba Review. This can take as little as 1 hour of your time in the dive pool or shallow water and gives you the chance to refresh those skills you may have forgotten. That way, when you do dive again you can relax and enjoy your dives, and be sure that you won’t have any nasty surprises in store.
If you already tried a Introductory Diving Program experience or are Scuba Diver certified, you may get credit from these courses to the open water programme. View this in your Hotel and your instructor will explain all aspects of the theory and answer any questions you have. Learning options for scuba diving in Thailand also include group or private instruction.
